HUNGARIAN FOLKTALES

Stories that stay with us

The Hungarian Folktales cartoon series began in 1977 at the Kecskemét studio of the Pannónia Film Studio, and has since been breathing new life into stories derived from Hungarian ethnographic collections. Marcell Jankovics played a defining role in developing the series' characteristic visual world, which draws from the motifs, forms, and colors of Hungarian folk art and has since become a shared cultural experience for generations.
