HUNGARIAN TO ORBIT
HUNOR – Hungarian Astronaut Program
After more than forty years, Hungary is once again sending a human into space. Following a two-year selection and training process coordinated by Hungarian experts, as well as 8-10 months of mission-specific training by NASA and Axiom Space, Hungarian research astronaut Tibor Kapu will serve on the International Space Station as a member of the Ax-4 mission crew. While on board the ISS, the astronaut will conduct experiments from Hungarian universities, companies, and research labs. Meanwhile, backup research astronaut Gyula Cserényi will support the mission from Earth.
This historic endeavor places Hungary and the Hungarian space sector at the forefront of the international space industry, contributes to creating high value-added career opportunities, energizes the Hungarian scientific community, and sparks scientific curiosity among Hungarians.

First Thoughts
The idea of the astronaut watch was about more than creating a special object. We wanted to create a timepiece that pulses with the desire for discovery, technological precision, and the pride that the HUNOR program represents for Hungary. From the very first sketches, the goal was clear: to craft a watch that goes beyond time itself.

The watch is made locally in Hungarian workshops, with special attention to details and materials. During production, we used solutions that can withstand even the harshest environments—because a watch worthy of space exploration could be made no other way. The result is a precision instrument fit for the challenges of space research.
