HUNOR – Hungarian Astronaut Program
After more than forty years, Hungary is once again sending a human into space. Following a two-year selection and training process coordinated by Hungarian experts, and an additional 8–10 months of mission-specific training by NASA and Axiom Space, Hungarian research astronaut Tibor Kapu will serve on the International Space Station as a member of the Ax-4 mission crew. On board the ISS, the astronaut will carry out experiments developed by Hungarian universities, companies and research institutes. Meanwhile, reserve research astronaut Gyula Cserényi will support the mission from Earth.
This historic endeavor places Hungary and the Hungarian space sector at the forefront of the international space industry, contributes to the creation of high value-added career opportunities, invigorates the Hungarian scientific community and helps spark scientific interest among Hungarians.

The idea behind the astronaut watch was not just to create a unique object. We wanted to design a timepiece that pulses with the spirit of discovery, technological precision, and the pride that the HUNOR program represents for Hungary. From the very first sketches, the goal was clear: to create a watch that goes beyond simply telling time.

The watch is made locally in Hungarian workshops, with special attention to details and materials. During production, we used solutions that can withstand even the harshest environments—because a watch worthy of space exploration could be made no other way. The result is a precision instrument fit for the challenges of space research.
